Advancing health research methodology through collaboration, innovation and excellence.
The Centre for Health Research Methodology (CHRM) at the University of Galway works to improve how health research is designed, conducted, and communicated. We bring together expertise in clinical trials methodology, evidence synthesis, and public and patient involvement to ensure that health research is rigorous, relevant, and accessible.
Our mission is to strengthen health research methodology in Ireland and internationally. Through a set of closely connected initiatives, including the HRB Trials Methodology Research Network, Evidence Synthesis Ireland and Cochrane Ireland, Informed Health Choices, and the GRADE Ireland Network, we support researchers, inform policy, and engage the public in understanding and contributing to health research.
Based at the University of Galway and working with partners across Ireland and internationally, we provide training, methodological support, and undertake innovative research to advance the science of health research methods. Our work aims to ensure that healthcare decisions are informed by the best available evidence.
Meet the dedicated team driving innovation in health research methodology.
